Travelling Stock Reserves (TSR's)

In times gone by when graziers needed to move stock, they would move from one travelling stock reserve (TSR) to another where they could rest, feed and water their animals.
Today these places are still available for public recreation such as camping and swimming, but importantly they are still used for stock, apiary sites and conservation consequently there are restrictions such as no motorbikes, shooting or hunting, etc Look out for gatesigns with the TSR logo. There are quite a few around the Mudgee region. Halfway to Gulgong (12km from Mudgee) on the right hand side, after Lester's Lane and before Belinfante Bridge you will find a pleasant TSR along the banks of the Cudgegong River. Take care turning into the gate it's on a crest - best to go along and turn back to enter. Or try the Wilbertree Rd bridge several kilometres from Mudgee on the Gulgong Road turn right and travel along to the bridge area. You could also try Hargraves, Windeyer, Frog Rock, Home Rule, Wollar they're everywhere when you start looking.
