Noel Chapman, everyone’s favourite coach driver, is affectionaly known to generations of schoolkids and tourists who have enjoyed his company and good humour on his various trips, excursions and tours. 

As a teacher in Gulgong since 1984 I have been with Noel on many excursions throughout our region.  A particular delight was camping at Dunn's Swamp with Chappie. Teachers universally agreed having Chappie along on an excursion was like having two extra teachers.  He taught me to cook bacon and eggs on a barbeque plate for fifty kids and had the knack of making every event and mealtime an exciting adventure. These days I look forward to every outing with Chappie.
