Interested in the Arts - Short & Sweet - is setting up rural hubs of writers, directors and actors to create and perform local plays for local audiences

        www.shortandsweet.org

                  ***************

Short+Sweet is seeking passionate and dynamic partners to help deliver this exciting initiative across regional and rural NSW and calls on interested companies and organisations to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) by 21 February 2012. Applications will be assessed late February and an announcement made in March.

Success will depend on a number of factors including location, skills, resources and commitment. Organisations will need to make a successful case as a potential Short+Sweet partner and demonstrate delivery of innovative programs with success and passion.

Project consultant Michelle Hall has been engaged to assist in further developing the initiative. Michelle said it was a fresh and enticing opportunity that would benefit regional participants throughout NSW.

“I’m passionate about access for people west of the Blue Mountains to participate in the arts, whether as artist or audience . This is a fantastic opportunity for Short+Sweet and artistic communities in rural NSW to collaborate and create new, exciting platforms for the creative voice to be heard… from Bourke to Bangalore!

“It will be exciting to unearth new talent and then assist with their artistic development. S+S will benefit from all the wonderful foundation work that has gone before it and look forward to working with the individuals and groups who have been driving the arts in rural NSW.”

The Expression of Interest criteria are listed below and on the attached.
Interested applicants should contact Michelle Hall on michelle@shortandsweet.org

We have introduced a new monthly feature entitled "Artist in Profile".  November's feature is on emerging local artist, Connie Eales.  I found Connie's oil paintings an absolute pleasure - the imagery and colours are both so romantic.  There's a sense of old world charm about it.

The feature is FREE and open to all artists, however there may be a waiting list.  Artists intending to feature need to have their artwork and artist statement ready to publish.

Click to view the Artist in Profile feature or contact us for inclusion or more information.
